Are you in need of equipment and chemicals for your laboratory?

Teachers often complain that they do not have chemicals and/or equipment. This is a reminder - once again - that:

1)  The physical science and natural science HODs and teachers are responsible to know what they have and what they need.

2)  Inform your principal and SMT about your needs in order to budget - these items are part of what we call LTSM.

3)  Depending on the category of school you are (Section 21, etc.), you have to get the procurement process on the way.

4)  The equipment provided through subject advisers to schools is a bonus; it is not the rule. Staff members at schools must see that laboratories are functional in order to do practical work.

Earlier this year a post has appeared on this blog (click here for the post) with contact details of Edutrade.

Browse Edutrade's website and send them an enquiry about prices, etc. Start the process to make practical work more effective. You have to initiate the process. Lastly; don't assume chemicals are "old". Test them and see whether they still do what they intend to do.
